Yes. PinPoint handles the search, the site build, the checkout link and the domain setup automatically, so each sale takes minutes of hands-on time rather than hours. PinPoint Lite's 300 searches a month is usually enough room for evenings and weekends, with PinPoint Pro's 1,000 searches available if you scale up.
What selling websites to local businesses actually involves
The job has a handful of distinct steps: find a business that is open and has no website, build something to show the owner, agree on a price, collect payment, and then keep the site running. Each step used to take real time on its own. Finding a lead meant driving around or searching by hand. Building a site meant hours of design and copywriting. Collecting payment meant setting up invoicing. None of that fits easily around a day job unless the steps get faster.
How much time each step takes with PinPoint
PinPoint searches for real, open businesses near you that have no website, checking the business's other Google listings for the same name plus the same phone number or the same spot on the map, so a listing with a website elsewhere does not slip through. That search runs from your phone in a few minutes. Once you pick a business, PinPoint builds a complete, mobile-ready site from its own Google listing: real photos, hours, services and reviews, no separate design step. You show the finished site to the owner on your phone, set your price and the monthly hosting, and send a secure Stripe checkout link. When the owner pays, PinPoint registers the domain, points it at the site and turns on the secure lock by itself. None of this requires sitting at a computer.
How many businesses you can reach in a part-time month
How far that time goes each month depends on the plan. PinPoint Lite includes 300 searches a month and 20 template sites, which is usually enough room for evenings and weekends without running into a limit. PinPoint Pro includes 1,000 searches a month, 10 custom AI-designed sites and unlimited template sites, built for someone treating this closer to full time. Either way, the search and build limits are generous enough that the real constraint on a part-time schedule is usually your own calendar, not the app.
- Search for open businesses with no website, in a few minutes from your phone
- Get a finished, mobile-ready site built automatically from the business's own listing
- Set your own price and monthly hosting, with a $24 a month hosting minimum
- Send a secure Stripe checkout link and let PinPoint handle the domain and SSL
What happens after a local business owner says yes
Once the owner pays, the money flow depends on whether you are using Lite or Pro. On PinPoint Lite, the client's payment goes to PMV, which keeps 10 percent of the website price and 10 percent of each month of hosting, then sends the seller the rest, less the card processing fee, 7 days after the client pays. On PinPoint Pro, the client pays straight into the seller's own Stripe account, and PMV receives 5 percent of the website price and 5 percent of each month of hosting. Either way, the seller sets the price, keeps the client, and the site carries the seller's name. Editing a site afterward, whether that is a new photo, a changed hour or an updated service, takes minutes from your phone.
How this compares with Pindrop
Pindrop covers similar ground: an app that builds a finished website for a local business so you can show the owner and sell it on the spot, on web, iPhone and Android. Pindrop's own pricing study, as of October 27, 2026, lists 481 prices from 225 builders, with a median build fee asked of $500 and a median monthly charge asked of $50 a month, but only 20 of those prices have been paid by the owner so far. For someone trying to do this part-time, that gap between prices listed and prices paid is worth paying attention to, since the limited hours you have are better spent closing a sale than adding another unpaid listing. Pindrop's homepage says the client pays by card and 90 percent goes to the seller's own Stripe every month, but the client's subscription is with Pindrop itself, and its help center describes a 14-day rule for a seller who stops paying for their own plan. We covered the full breakdown of that split in our Pindrop comparison.
Getting started on a part-time schedule
If you want to try this around an existing job, start small. Download PinPoint for iPhone or Android, run a handful of searches near where you already spend time, and build one site before you set a price. You will have a real feel for how long each step actually takes before you commit more hours to it. From there, you can scale up to Pro once the Lite search limit starts to feel tight.
